COA’s IT department has been busy!

Over the past month or so, a number of new and shiny computers and computer monitors have popped up at some of your work stations. We hope the new equipment will help to improve your day to day functions. If any adjustments are needed on the recent improvements, please reach out to a member of the IT team for their assistance.

With the recent addition of companies and street furniture, it was only a matter of time before we needed to upgrade our servers to accommodate our ever growing database and business. In the last month, Harry was busy at work with the project. There may be a few hiccups along the way but we ask for your patience. You should soon notice the system running at a much faster speed.

Our contractors are especially pleased with the phasing out of G1 and G2 scanners. The 3rd generation scanners are now accessible by using any Smart Phones. Ken has been working diligently in writing the application while Henry has been working on the COA’s Contractors Portal and providing tutorials to the operation team. Both gentlemen are readily available for any troubleshooting on the new portal and scanners.

For those of you that visit the photos section on COA’s Website regularly, you may have noticed the new photos format. This new LightBox PhotoViewer is designed to be more user friendly with a pop out window to showcase the uploaded photo. A content menu is available when you right click on the image, either on the thumbnail or on the actual pop out image. Please note if you copy the thumbnail, the image will be very small. It would be better served to copy and paste the pop out image instead.

If you have any questions or concerns, the IT desk is always available for assistance.
